General Dynamics Joint Venture Awarded Fort Knox Base Operations Support Contract

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), has awarded Armor Center Support Services (ACSS), a joint venture between General Dynamics Land Systems Customer Service and Support Company (CSSC) and Brown and Root Services Company (BRSC), a $104 million contract to perform logistics and public works services for the Fort Knox installation.

Services to be performed include maintenance of buildings and structures, family housing, utility systems, heating and air conditioning systems, dining facility equipment, surfaced areas, pest control, self-help services, installation transportation services, base supply services, ground maintenance, range maintenance, railroad maintenance, and equipment/material maintenance.

The period of performance begins with a phase-in period from January 2001 through May 2001. The base contract runs from June 2001 through May 2002. Option years following the base period can extend the contract through the end of May 2006.

Total manpower for the program is about 373 personnel. Of the total manpower, about 170 will be General Dynamics employees, 99 will be BRSC employees, and the remainder will work for several subcontractors.
