Suppliers

Our suppliers play a critical role in our ability to deliver the best-in-class products and services our customers expect.

Supply Chain Excellence

We have developed a best-in-class supply chain with suppliers that help us meet time, quality, cost and technical performance requirements — with an unfaltering focus on our customers' needs. We work across all our businesses to ensure we maintain our performance and value across the supply chain.

We continue to enhance our efforts through our Supply Chain Management Council (SCMC), which includes experts from across our business who frequently meet to share ideas and best practices, leverage resources and create shared technologies and processes. The work of the Council ensures we capture the value created by our supply-chain departments throughout the business.

How to Become a General Dynamics Supplier

Step 1. Learn About Our Business Units

General Dynamics has 10 business units spread across 4 different sectors. Each business unit has independent responsibility to source its supply partners. Small businesses looking to work with General Dynamics should start by learning more about each specific unit and identify which unit is the best fit for your products or services.

With the establishment of a Supplier Development Committee (SDC), representatives from each business unit meet to ensure that we capture the value created by our supply chain function and help achieve our customers’ requirements for relevant, affordable and capable products and services. The SDC is responsible for leveraging resources, sharing technologies and processes, and collectively pursuing technology-driven opportunities to meet the corporation’s objectives. This gives prospective supply partners many opportunities to offer their products and services and we encourage you to work with multiple business units.

Step 2. Register In Our Database

The General Dynamics Enterprise Supplier Registration Portal (ESRP) is an internal database used for identifying small business suppliers interested in partnering with us. This is your opportunity to provide an in-depth overview of your company. As part of your registration on the portal, please include information on your products and services, any socio-economic/business certifications, and all relevant customer past performance.

The information provided in the GD ESRP accessible to employees across all General Dynamics business units. When someone is interested in your products, you will be contacted by buyers directly or you may receive a Request for Information (RFI) or Request for Quotation (RFQ). Your information will remain in our database even if we do not have immediate needs for your products and services.

Step 3. Be Proactive In Your Pursuits

This is the most important step toward maximizing your potential prospects of working with General Dynamics. Identify federal customers that purchase your services. Contact you targeted customer OSDBUs, check agency forecasts, and develop a pipeline of upcoming opportunities. Identify the key opportunities that fit your core capabilities and past performance.

Once you have identified an opportunity that you are ready to pursue, it is time to contact the Small Business specialists at General Dynamics. Each GD business unit has its own Small Business Liaison Officers that facilitate relationships between qualified small business suppliers and General Dynamics Growth teams. You can find contact information for each individual GD SBLO here.
