Overview

This is a Detail Planning position in support of the Columbia class As-Built team. The successful candidate will be required to perform functions specific to Configuration Management and Certification, but are not limited to, Planning status data back fit, planning gap identification and closeout, process improvement changes, procedure and process creation, update, and CLB as-built integration. In order to perform these functions, the successful candidate will be required to interface with Operations, Engineering, Design, Material Systems, Configuration Management, Quality and other support organizations at various levels of management.

This position is located in New London, CT.



Responsibilities

Skills:

  • Good PC computer skills are required
  • Candidate must be well organized and proficient at multi-tasking
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal skills
  • Experience in a fast paced setting
  • Experience with Project Management principles in order to interface with all level of personnel
  • Understanding of Team Center Planning processes, both initial issue, change, and rollover
  • Understanding of Design and Engineering Change products and solution items issuance and maintenance
  • Understanding of 3G construction authorization for both Drawings (LOAs) and Liabilities (CNs)


Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of work experience in a Manufacturing and/or Production setting OR Design/Engineering role
  • Computer/Technical Competency

Preferred:

  • 3 years of Planning experience in Detail, Advanced, Production Control, Shipyard or Submarine experience
  • Experience in Certification, Key Events, or Ship Delivery Process
  • Working knowledge of ARTEMIS, Team Center/NX, MRPII, ERS, Electronic Desktop (EWP/PCM), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point
  • Previous experience with Columbia Change (CR/CN) processes
  • Technical Schooling or job experience in one of the following disciplines is desired: Electrical, Mechanical, Piping. Sheet metal/HVAC, Shipwrights and Structural
