Responsibilities to Anticipate for this Role
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring products meet the quality standards throughout the manufacturing process, focusing on developing and implementing quality control systems, identifying and resolving issues and improving processes.
- Monitor entire production process and perform regular tests to identify potential problems and issues in early stages
- Inspect materials and systems to find defects and enhance durability
- Investigate and identify root causes of technical issues and performing problem solving activities (8D, fishbone diagram, Pareto charts, 5-why, etc.) to correct or recommend fixes
- Prepare reports and/or documentation of malfunctions and corrective actions
- Review work instructions and quality documentation for compliance to drawings and customer requirements
- Setting and tracking quality assurance goals
- Working with internal teams to improve the quality of product for enhancing customer satisfaction
- Coordinate with external Quality Assurance Auditors and technician to ensure compliance
- Reads, writes and interprets work instructions to ensure accuracy of work performed.
- May be asked to perform some of the following off-line tasks including quality checks, down-time reporting and housekeeping duties.
- Performs other related duties to benefit the mission of the organization or as assigned by your leader.
- Interpret specifications and customer requirements.
- Supervise hourly quality personnel as needed.
- Familiarity with mil-specs, electrical wiring specs and general testing protocols.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required and 7+ years' experience in quality, quality control or manufacturing
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or another related field preferred
- Seven plus year experience in manufacturing, quality control or quality engineer required.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Professional persona with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret drawings, work instructions, and written work instructions
