Job Description
The Land C4ISR Applications team is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to facilitate and coordinate a team of systems, software, and test engineers in the development of new capabilities for the Canadian Army. As a member of the Applications team, you will help develop novel solutions used by soldiers including Battle Management, Planning, Communication, and Data Exchange. We work hand-in-hand with our customer to integrate leading technologies from a variety of global vendors. This role can be based out of Ottawa or Calgary.
Typical responsibilities of the Scrum Master:
- Run recurring Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint reviews, and customer demos.
- Lead the team through SAFe Framework processes such as PI planning, and participate in SAFe ceremonies such as ART sync.
- Support and coach teams to foster collaboration, self-organization, and continuous improvement.
- Act as a servant leader, helping to remove barriers, issues, and impediments that prevent team success.
- Work with the Product Owner and the customer, develop a backlog and help perform initial work planning.
- Identify and resolve conflicts, facilitate team communication, and improve overall team dynamics.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices, working agreements, and promoting Agile methodologies.
- Track team progress, Sprint metrics, and provide reports to management to help optimize performance and efficiency.
- Participate in reviews, inspections and audits.
- Expand knowledge of latest technologies, products and market trends relevant to the area of work.
- Share knowledge and present ideas to colleagues.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or an applicable discipline.
- Five or more years experience working on software integration projects.
- Two or more years of Scrum Master experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
