Overview
Workforce Development is currently looking for an organized, self-motivated Training Coordinator to support our work at the Pearl Harbor Site. This position will report remotely to the Chief of Training Sites and play a vital role in the development of the workforce and alignment to Workforce Development policies, procedures and strategies. As this group works to support the skills demands, several initiatives are in place to support training delivery, increasing the throughput, effectiveness and capacity of training.
Qualified candidates will have a strong sense of commitment to procedure compliance, be a self-starter and possess strong verbal & written communication skills. Applicants must possess the ability to multi-task with a friendly, approachable customer service demeanor.
Responsibilities & Duties - The responsibilities & duties include but are not limited to:
- Manage multiple projects with competing objectives under demanding deadlines
- Work with multiple stakeholders to ensure proper training is assigned and completed
- Maintenance of training certifications within the Learning Management System (LMS) for departmental employees as well as employees supporting projects in Pearl Harbor.
- Administration of hearing exams for personnel that require them.
- Tracking qualifications within the Personnel Qualification System (PQS) to support welders and Visual Testing (VT) personnel.
- Maintenance of training requirements for RADCON qualified personnel within the department.
- Interface with site leadership to develop and implement workforce development strategy.
- Conducting assessments of programs, developing solutions to meet Workforce Development objectives
- Maintain Workforce Development dashboards and other communication efforts
- Support periodic travel between EB and focus factory locations
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule The selected candidate will be expected to work the following work schedule:
- 1st shift hours (approximately 6:30am 3:00pm)
- Flexibility to adjust hours as necessary to support business need is a must
- Ability to work additional overtime as directed (including weekends)
- Ability to participate in business travel up to 25%
This position will be based onsite at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii location.
Responsibilities
- Have excellent written & verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
- Have a strong ability to prioritize and complete multiple complex assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Have a strong ability to lead and influence non-direct reports
- Have demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote)
- Strong knowledge of EB MDDs, SSDs, SPs and SSPs
- Have a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities and duties as needed
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be granted or obtain a Secret Clearance
- Minimum 2 years Workforce Development Experience/ or experience working in Training Administration or Education
Preferred
- 1 year of work experience at or supporting Electric Boat
- Working knowledge of Workforce Development programs, policies and procedures
- Experience with Learning Management Systems
- Advanced educational course work including certifications, associates or other advanced education degree
- Instructing/teaching experience
- Past trades/manufacturing experience
- Proficiency with communication & virtual technologies
