Job Description:
Applications Designer
Deliver simple solutions to complex problems as an Applications Designer at GDIT. Here, you'll tailor cutting-edge solutions to the unique requirements of our client. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Ability to work daily with senior leaders
Identifying, deriving, and codifying user and system requirements, information requirements, data formats, operational characteristics, information flows, and security and accreditation considerations
Planning and leading sessions with users to examine current business process goals, objectives, structures, workflows, systems and roles, to achieve functional process streamlining and improvement, as well as the goal of requirements determination and identification and long-term, full-scale integration for software implementation
Developing software test plans, procedures, and conduct both software integrations testing and software acceptance testing for all new and modified software baselines associated with future DSMS program
Supporting internal and external Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) but not limited to, defining and understanding requirements; discussing technical issues (e.g. system engineering, integration, conformance and compliance activities, etc.); resolving technical and management deficiencies; reviewing product evolution and modifications; discussing system functionality, status, and improvements; gathering required information/data from other nuclear weapons stockpile management on-going activities; or discussing any other technical issues
Planning and leading meetings with users to demonstrate that new beta application meets all established requirements with acceptable risk and within schedule constraints and establishes the basis for proceeding with the detailed design
Planning and conducting internal acceptance testing prior to government acceptance testing of any software versions, enhancements, or upgrades
Providing technical support in the delivery and installation of new software versions associated with mission application requirements
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Requires working knowledge of nuclear weapons accountability practicing
Understanding and experience with industry standard formal requirements development and system design methodologies
Must be a quick learner able to dig into old code, understand how it currently works, identify the possible solutions and discuss with client if necessary
Strong attention to detail, strong written and verbal skills for creating software that is intuitive and easy to use
Able to work with client to review business requirements and solutions
Active Top Secret Clearance
Able to obtain IAT Level II within 6 months of contract start
Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree
Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience
Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret

The likely salary range for this position is $114,750 - $155,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
