Lead Captain Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the aircraft, determine departure times and routes, and/or cancel flights based on weather or other conditions, keeping in constant communication with the family office and with the owner directly when appropriate.
- Ensures aircraft is owner-ready at all times and remains acutely aware of owner travel needs in real time.
- Ensures that all flights are conducted in complete compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate the aircraft schedule and training with the flight crew, management company, and family office as needed.
- Proactively communicates current or potential issues or opportunities as required.
- Works closely with maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with all aircraft maintenance events (scheduled and unscheduled) and regular tasks are completed (e.g., database updates, audits, checklists).
- Accurate completion of all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring a thorough and complete understanding with the second in command regarding all aspects of flight.
- Leads flight department crew members to accomplish department goals while contributing to high employee morale.
- Determine that the flight crew is reporting for duty in proper attire and that they are mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Ensures all missions are staffed, staff are in-position prior to any mission, and all trip logistics for owner and passengers have been arranged (e.g. ground-transportation, catering, etc.)
- Mentor and coach crew members to assist in their professional development.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for assigned crew members.
- Assist flight department account manager as requested.
- Assist in hiring of flight crew.
- Fulfills manager responsibilities as needed.
- Completes other duties as expected of aircraft owner or family office in accordance with defined expectations.
Ensures the Safe Operation of Flight for designated Flight Department:
- Completes flight planning, performance and weight and balance tasks for each assignment, as required.
- Utilizes Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and mitigate operational risks.
- Analyze area, enroute and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternates.
- Institute all necessary changes as required by enroute conditions such that the flight continues under appropriate company policies, rules, and procedures.
- Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel as required. Acts as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Maintains complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems which they are authorized to operate including all emergency systems and procedures associated with the aircraft.
- Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including the maintenance status of the aircraft, to ensure the aircraft is mission capable. Records all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Ensures all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are monitored and accomplished in accordance with SOPs.
- Completes passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulation. Delivers the highest level of customer service and meet any special needs of passengers (e.g., physically challenged).
- Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to communicate with crew and support personnel clearly and in a timely manner during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
- Responsible for taking an active role supporting the open sharing of information on all safety and reporting issues and reporting all safety hazards and concerns.
- Impart knowledge and skills to second in command to prepare them to assume the duties of Pilot in Command in an emergency or when the second in command upgrades to pilot in command in the aircraft.
- Secure aircraft after each flight to include arranging hangar storage if they deem necessary or as instructed by the company management.
Delivers an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Provides quality service to owners and passengers while identifying opportunities to enhance onboard service experience. Ensures owner and passenger needs are anticipated, preferences are discovered, executed, and logged for future trips, and every element of the passenger experience is first class. Regularly investigates and resolves service deviations.
- Acts as point of contact for all owner missions which utilize the aircraft.
- Leads crew members and collaborates with operating and managing partners to provide consistent service experience to owners and passengers. Resolves conflict and challenges in an acceptable manner.
- Serves in other capacities as needed to ensure highest quality service experience including preparing aircraft cabin, providing luggage assistance, escorts to and from aircraft, etc.
Maintains Proficiency and Compliance for Designated Flight Department:
- Maintains regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
- Complies with company SMS program and reports safety or non-compliance concerns through the appropriate channels.
- Ensures all crewmembers remain qualified to act in their assigned capacity in accordance with regulations and company policy.
- Ensures all crewmembers comply with company policies and regulatory protocols are followed.

Minimum Requirements:
- Must possess an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating
- Obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical
- 4500 hours Total Fixed Wing
- 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command
- 1500 hours Turbojet
- 1500 Turbine time
- 100 hours Night
- 5 years of aviation experience
- Must be able to work flexible schedules
- Willing to travel worldwide extensively and without any restrictions
- 18 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
